Innovative technologies, intelligent software, robust construction and modern design are the four cornerstones of our machine manufacturing activities in the USA and Germany.

At our American location in Puyallup (near Seattle) and our German Opladen and Erkelenz locations, we produce 3D profile cutting machines for round pipes, tanks, dished-ends, square and rectangular pipes and steel beams as well as automated welding solutions for the toughest requirements in the metalworking industry.

The machines and our software solutions are used in all segments of thermal cutting and welding and represent the first and the most important stage of a modern production process. The high quality of workmanship and the many years of experience of our staff are an assurance of integrated solutions for complex cutting and welding tasks - worldwide.

W-122 Computer controlled pipe cutting machine manually conveys and rotates pipe from 2" to 12.75" OD with a 24' machine bed (expandable to 50') capable of supporting 300 lbs. per foot to a maximum of 6,000 lbs. to include:

  • 2-axis profiling carriage with manual bevel positions preset at 90 degrees, 30 degrees, 37.5 degrees. Other bevel angles can be set with the locking mechanism.
  • Tracking torch head includes vertical and horizontal tracking mechanisms to maintain torch height and pipe centerline to automatically compensation for bent or out-of-round pipe.
  • Floating pipe clamp with a locking mechanism for an accurate rotation that eliminates pipe walk.
  • 3D pipe cutting software for at-machine and remote pipe cut programming and job management. The software vastly simplifies the importing, design, and nesting of parts, streamlines job estimating, scheduling and inventory management, and allows job tracking in real-time.

WM-Large Vessel

Using the Watts-Mueller 3D Profiling Machine with the 3D CAD software it is possible to create complex pressure vessel designs at the machine or import from a 3D drawing package like Codeware's Compress. This machine is designed specifically to perform intricate cuts such as those pictured below for vessels and dished ends. Our thermal 3D profile cutting machines are available in several series to accommodate vessels from as small as 3" to 160".

Both plasma and oxy-fuel cutting torches are available.

WattsMueller-robo-machine

WM-Robo Beam

The Robo Series machines are robot-controlled and mainly intended for comprehensive beam cutting. These machines are also capable of cutting round pipes, square & rectangular pipes. Beams can be cut up to a web width of 1,200 mm and up to a weight of 12 metric tons.

The Robo Series machines are specifically designed for cutting beams, square pipes, round and rectangular pipes, and are equipped with 9 CNC-controlled axes. The workpieces are loaded onto the beam cutting bed by a crane. Alternatively, we can also supply the machine exclusively for beams with a cutting cell and automated infeed and outfeed.

The CNC Axes:
- Rotation of the beam/pipe (Y-axis)
- Longitudinal movement of the cutting head along the X-axis
- Oscillatory movement of the cutting head (B-axis)
- Rotation of the cutting head (C-axis)
- Height adjustment of the cutting head in the event of surface deviations (Z-axis)
- Torch distance correction in relation to the cutting angle during the cutting process (W-axis)
- Transverse movement of the cutting head at 90 degrees to the workpiece axis (V-axis)
